Yellowhorn Camps:  The easy part of outfitting and guiding, is the guiding; because it is the reason we are in the outdoors, and what we love to do!  The outfitting portion, or the logistics of a hunt is often not nearly as enjoyable for the staff.  At Yellowhorn Outfitters we try hard to excel at both, because we believe with proper preparation, not only is your hunt more enjoyable, it is often more successful.  When you are beat up and tired after days of hard work, hunting, nothing makes you feel better and recharged for the next day, like a warm, dry, comfortable camp with great food.

Most of our camps are set up in remote areas, close to where we need to hunt.  Sometimes we can use camp trailers, and will do so when appropriate.  However, most of our camps are Tent Camps, mainly because we can put them wherever we need too.

Wall Tents and large Cabin Tents work very well in our Southwestern deserts, and up at higher elevations as well.  They are heated, with propane and wood stoves, have carpeted floors, propane lights, and also have large cots with foam pads.

The Shower Tent is something enjoyed by all!  After days trekking around the hills, nothing makes you feel more energized than a hot shower!

Normally, we will have a large Cook Tent, which we use as a gathering point after dinner as well as for breakfast and supper.  The Cook Tent is also carpeted and heated with electric or propane lights.  Some comfort is a necessity when you are working hard day after day!

Menu and Food Preparation:  When it comes to a menu for your hunt, you choose it, and we fix it the way you like it!  We will send you a Menu Selection Guide; you fill it out and send it back to us.  Our cooks will buy what you request and fix it the way you like it. It really doesn’t take much more effort on our part to insure you have what you like to eat while you are hunting with us.

We really enjoy traditional Southwest cooking.  Many of our meals are usually prepared over ironwood or mesquite coals.  Unless you tell us differently, you can expect this type of preparation and hospitality.

Special Needs:  Part of your menu guide deals with any special needs you may have.  These include dietary needs, medical conditions, or any other issues that may affect your health, or your hunt.  It is your responsibility to let us know what you need, and we will make sure we take it into consideration before and during your hunt.

Alcohol: Alcohol in the evenings, and in moderation is OK with us.  If at anytime we feel alcohol use is in question, we will immediately address this issue; and we are the final word.  We have a responsibility in our business to insure the safety of all individuals, including the hunters, the staff and any visitors to our camps.
